چکیده

Thermoluminescence spectra of manganiferous carbonatite has been studied from 30 1C to 400 1C over the wavelength range from 200 nm to 800 nm. The natural thermoluminescence appears above 200 1C and shows continuous spectral distribution from 240 nm to 800 nm. Above 500 nm the emission appears in the form of line structure emission. These are reproduced by laboratory irradiation which also produces broad bands near 100 1C. The emission features are attributed to presence of Mn impurities in the carbonatite matrix. The spectral study was supplemented by kinetic analysis of the most prominent peaks and their kinetic features are reported. & 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Thermoluminescence characteristics and kinetic analysis of copper doped magnesium sulfate in gamma irradiation

MgSO4:Cu phosphor was synthesized by solid state method. Optimum concentration of copper was determined at 0.1 mol%. Thermoluminescence characteristics of MgSO4:Cu was studied following gamma irradiation. A linear dose response was observed in dose range of 1Gy to 500Gy. Reusability of this sample was tested after 10 cycles of gamma irradiation and it revealed that the intensity remains approxi...

Remote Sensing Exploration of Nb-Ta-LREE-Enriched Carbonatite (Epembe/Namibia)

On the example of the Epembe carbonatite-hosted Nb-Ta-LREE deposit, we demonstrate the use of hyperspectral reflectance data and geomorphic indicators for improving the accuracy of remote sensing exploration data of structurally-controlled critical raw material deposits. The results further show how exploration can benefit from a combination of expert knowledge and remotely-sensed relief, as we...

Review of Methods for Determining Glow Peak Kinetics Parameters of Thermoluminescence Dosemeters

In the field of thermoluminescence dosimetry the daily analysis of multi-peak glow curves includes computerized curve-fitting methods, the so-called deconvolutions. These are in need of restricting the kinetic parameters E and s in order to obtain physically relevant results. There have been suggested various methods for the determination of these kinetic parameters based on a theory treating s...

The Kinetic and Thermal Degradation Studies of N-(4-Acetyl-phenyl)-acetimidic Acid Pyridine-3-yl ester Metal(II) Complexes

Schiff base complexes of transition metals are of particular interest to inorganic chemists because of their structural, spectral and chemical properties, which are often strongly dependant on the nature of the ligand structure. Large number of metal (II) complexes with Schiff-base ligands has been extensively studied for their interesting structural specialties, applications and properties. Th...

Thermally and optically stimulated processes in X-irradiated scheelite type crystals

— In tungstate and molybdate crystals having scheelite structure various (intrinsic and extrinsic) hole and electron centres are created by X-irradiation at liquid nitrogen temperature. Several of these centres have been thoroughly investigated by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements. Their thermal decay and optical bleaching, resp., can be related to glow peaks of thermoluminesce...
